2011 Convention - Manchester, England
Saturday night live jazz with Digby Fairweather & His Half Dozen
Report by Horace Meunier Harris
The 48th IAJRC Convention was held at Manchester, England, for the first time since London in 1994. It was a masterpiece of Anglo-American co-operation. The warmest praise from all those present goes to those responsible - Ian Tiele, Perry Huntoon and Lee Goode and their helpers on the American side, and Arnie Chadwick, Peter Caswell and the members of the Manchester Jazz Society in Britain. A number of members from the United States and Canada made the effort to attend, plus several from Germany, Austria and Denmark. On arrival, well loaded "goody bags" were presented to all.

Friday night live jazz with The West End Jazz Band
Report by Ian Tiele
The 47th annual IAJRC Convention was held in Chicago at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Northbrook from September 23rd to September 25th, 2010. This year's event was the first organized by the Association's new Convention Committee of Perry Huntoon and lan Tiele (Co-Chairs), Alfred Ticoalu, Lee Goode, Marc Kritzer and Paul Tuteur. The committee lined-up an excellent mixture of presentations, jazz films and live jazz music. As with previous conventions, a listening room was provided for those who wanted to relax and listen to their jazz in a quiet environment, and a number of sellers were purveying their wares in the record vendor's room.
